Abstract; This research has been accomplished under the title of “Effects of Phone Tax Revenue on Government Revenue” With the intention of collecting the certain relevant data for this study, efforts were to get the information from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and other sources, such as telecommunication companies operating in Kabul. The literature review based article presents different viewpoints of various researchers regarding the significance and “Effects of Phone Tax Revenue on Government Revenue”. The telecommunication sector in Afghanistan is one of the fastest growing and booming sector which has been proven as a positive context for the Afghan government and people in terms of revenue collection and the creation of job opportunities at the country level. This sector has substantially bloomed over the last two decades and many people as well as the government revenue department have benefited from it and it has been a source of revenue distribution for the Afghan people, as the telecommunication companies have created more than 100,000 job opportunities for both male and female employees across the country. Though, there have been problems and challenges the telecommunication sector has been facing since its very beginning of operation in the country, such as security problems, unfair competition between the telecommunication companies, etc. But despite all these problems and constraints, the existence of this sector in the country has been of quite significance and both the Afghan people and the government have been collecting immense amount of money from the sector. On the other side, the internet usage in Afghanistan has also been in existence since the beginning of the telecommunication sector operation, which has proven very effective in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and it is hoped that by the time this sector would lead the country towards the new arenas of modernism.
